# Connect your AI assistant

> Use Panion from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code or Claude Code with one URL and your Panion login.

Source: https://www.panion.travel/docs/mcp

Panion has an MCP server: a standard way for AI apps to use your Panion data. No code and no API key. You add one URL to your app, sign in with your normal Panion login and choose what it may see and do.

MCP server URL:

```text
https://mcp.panion.travel
```

> **Can it make bookings? No.** No. Panion's AI tools can never create a booking, a rebooking link or a share link. Bookings are made through Panion checkout or your own booking system.

## Pick your app

- [Claude.ai](#claude): Claude on the web, plus the Claude mobile apps once it is added.
- [Claude Desktop](#claude-desktop): The Claude app for Mac and Windows.
- [ChatGPT](#chatgpt): ChatGPT on the web with developer mode.
- [Cursor](#cursor): The Cursor editor.
- [VS Code](#vs-code): Visual Studio Code with GitHub Copilot Chat.
- [Claude Code](#claude-code): Claude Code in your terminal.

## Claude.ai

Claude on the web, plus the Claude mobile apps once it is added. **You need:** A Claude plan with custom connectors. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to add the connector for the organisation first.

**Step 1. Add the server**

Open claude.ai, then Settings, Connectors.

Click Add custom connector.

Name it Panion and paste the URL. Leave the advanced settings empty.

```text
https://mcp.panion.travel
```

Click Add, then Connect next to Panion.

**Step 2. Sign in**

A Panion page opens. Sign in with your normal Panion login, check the app name and the address it returns to, tick the operators and permissions you want to share, and click Approve.

**Step 3. Test the connection**

In a new chat, open the tools menu and make sure Panion is switched on, then ask your question. Try:

```text
Show me today's manifest
```

## Claude Desktop

The Claude app for Mac and Windows. **You need:** The Claude desktop app signed in to a plan with custom connectors. Connectors added on claude.ai show up here too.

**Step 1. Add the server**

Open Claude Desktop, then Settings, Connectors.

Click Add custom connector.

Name it Panion and paste the URL.

```text
https://mcp.panion.travel
```

Click Add, then Connect. Your browser opens.

**Step 2. Sign in**

A Panion page opens. Sign in with your normal Panion login, check the app name and the address it returns to, tick the operators and permissions you want to share, and click Approve.

Go back to Claude Desktop. Panion now shows as connected.

**Step 3. Test the connection**

In a new chat, open the tools menu, switch Panion on and ask your question. Try:

```text
Show me today's manifest
```

## ChatGPT

ChatGPT on the web with developer mode. **You need:** A ChatGPT plan that allows custom connectors in developer mode. On business plans an admin may need to allow it.

**Step 1. Add the server**

Open ChatGPT, then Settings, Apps & Connectors, Advanced settings.

Turn on Developer mode.

Back in Apps & Connectors, click Create.

Name it Panion, paste the URL as the MCP server URL, choose OAuth, tick that you trust the app, and click Create.

```text
https://mcp.panion.travel
```

Click Connect when ChatGPT asks.

**Step 2. Sign in**

A Panion page opens. Sign in with your normal Panion login, check the app name and the address it returns to, tick the operators and permissions you want to share, and click Approve.

**Step 3. Test the connection**

In a new chat, click +, choose Developer mode, pick Panion, then ask your question. Try:

```text
Show me today's manifest
```

## Cursor

The Cursor editor. **You need:** Cursor with MCP support. The sign-in uses a short local callback on port 8787.

**Step 1. Add the server**

Open Cursor Settings, then MCP (Tools & Integrations), and click Add new MCP server. Or add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "panion": { "url": "https://mcp.panion.travel" }
  }
}
```

Save. Panion appears in the MCP list with a Connect or Needs login button. Click it. Your browser opens.

**Step 2. Sign in**

A Panion page opens. Sign in with your normal Panion login, check the app name and the address it returns to, tick the operators and permissions you want to share, and click Approve.

Go back to Cursor. Panion shows its tools.

**Step 3. Test the connection**

Ask in the Cursor chat (Agent). Cursor asks before it runs a Panion tool. Try:

```text
Show me today's manifest
```

## VS Code

Visual Studio Code with GitHub Copilot Chat. **You need:** VS Code with GitHub Copilot Chat in agent mode.

**Step 1. Add the server**

Open the Command Palette and run MCP: Add Server. Choose HTTP, paste the URL and name it panion. Or add this to .vscode/mcp.json:

```json
{
  "servers": {
    "panion": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.panion.travel" }
  }
}
```

Start the server when VS Code asks, and allow it to sign in. Your browser opens.

**Step 2. Sign in**

A Panion page opens. Sign in with your normal Panion login, check the app name and the address it returns to, tick the operators and permissions you want to share, and click Approve.

Go back to VS Code. Panion's tools show in the Copilot Chat tools list.

**Step 3. Test the connection**

Open Copilot Chat in agent mode, check Panion is ticked in the tools list, then ask your question. Try:

```text
Show me today's manifest
```

## Claude Code

Claude Code in your terminal. **You need:** Claude Code installed and signed in.

**Step 1. Add the server**

Add Panion:

```text
claude mcp add --transport http panion https://mcp.panion.travel
```

Start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose panion and pick Authenticate. Your browser opens.

**Step 2. Sign in**

A Panion page opens. Sign in with your normal Panion login, check the app name and the address it returns to, tick the operators and permissions you want to share, and click Approve.

Back in the terminal, /mcp shows panion as connected.

**Step 3. Test the connection**

Ask Claude Code your question. It asks before it runs a Panion tool unless you allow it. Try:

```text
Show me today's manifest
```

## What you can do

Read your bookings, one booking in detail, the manifest for any day (departures and passengers from every channel), your sales and your analytics. If you tick them when you connect, it can also check guests in, email a balance payment link, cancel a booking with a full refund and move a booking at the same price.

Try "Who is on the 10:00 tour tomorrow?", "How did my tours sell last month by channel?" or "Send the balance payment link to the Smith booking on Friday".

## Can it make bookings?

No. Panion's AI tools can never create a booking, a rebooking link or a share link. Bookings are made through Panion checkout or your own booking system.

## Permissions

### Who can connect

Owners and admins of an operator in Panion. You choose which of your operators the assistant may see. Staff accounts can sign in but see no data.

### Guest contact details

Only if you tick Guest contact details when you connect. It is off by default.

### Changes need your yes

Every change takes two steps. The assistant first gets a summary of exactly what will happen and shows it to you. Only after you agree does it send the change, with a confirmation that works once and expires after 5 minutes.

## Limits

Up to 300 tool calls per minute per connection. Per UTC day: 2000 check-ins, 50 payment links, 20 cancellations and 20 reschedules. Analytics questions cover at most 400 days, 2 at a time.

## See what it did

Oracle, Settings, API keys, Connections shows every connection with its usage. Every change is also written to the booking's history, naming the AI connection.

## Disconnect

Remove Panion in the AI app, or revoke the connection in Oracle under Settings, API keys, Connections. Revoking in Oracle stops it at once, in every app.

- **Claude.ai**: Settings, Connectors, Panion, then Disconnect or Remove.
- **Claude Desktop**: Settings, Connectors, Panion, then Disconnect or Remove.
- **ChatGPT**: Settings, Apps & Connectors, Panion, then Disconnect or Delete.
- **Cursor**: Cursor Settings, MCP, then turn Panion off or delete it.
- **VS Code**: Command Palette, MCP: List Servers, panion, then Stop or Remove. Accounts menu, sign out of Panion.
- **Claude Code**: Run claude mcp remove panion, or clear its sign-in from /mcp.

## Troubleshooting

### The assistant says there is no data to show

You are not an owner or admin of an operator, or you left every operator unticked. Remove Panion in the app, connect again and tick your operators.

### It says it needs a permission

You did not tick that permission when you connected. Remove Panion in the app and connect again to tick it.

### The Panion page says the request has expired or was already answered

Each sign-in request lasts 10 minutes and works once. Go back to the AI app and click Connect again.

### The Panion page says it will not connect this app

Panion only returns sign-ins to web apps over https and to apps on your own computer. In Cursor this happens when port 8787 is busy: close whatever uses it and connect again.

### It worked, then stopped

The connection was revoked in Oracle or you stopped being owner or admin of the operator. Remove Panion in the app and add it again.

### ChatGPT does not use Panion

Developer mode must be on, and Panion must be picked from the + menu in that chat.
