# Quickstart

> Create an API key in Oracle and make your first call to the Partner API.

You need an Oracle account as an owner or admin of an operator. Staff accounts cannot create keys.

**Step 1. Create a key**

In Oracle, open **Settings > API keys** and click **Create key**. Pick the operators the key may act for and the scopes it needs. Start with `bookings:read` and `manifest:read`.

> The key (it starts with `pnn_live_`) is shown once. Store it in a password manager or your server's environment variables. Never put it in a URL or in code you share.

**Step 2. Make your first call**

`GET /api/v1/me` shows the operators and scopes on your key. It works with any valid key.

**curl**

```sh
curl https://www.panion.travel/api/v1/me \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PANION_API_KEY"
```

**JavaScript**

```js
const res = await fetch("https://www.panion.travel/api/v1/me", {
  headers: { Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.PANION_API_KEY}` },
});
console.log(await res.json());
```

**Python**

```python
import os, requests
res = requests.get(
    "https://www.panion.travel/api/v1/me",
    headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['PANION_API_KEY']}"},
)
print(res.json())
```

**Step 3. Read today's manifest**

With `manifest:read`, ask for the departures and passengers of a day, from every channel:

```sh
curl "https://www.panion.travel/api/v1/manifest?date=$(date +%F)" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $PANION_API_KEY"
```
