1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, local storage and SDKs (collectively referred to as “cookies” in this policy).

Use of cookies that are not strictly necessary for the website to function requires your consent under the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act (ekomloven § 3-15, lov 13. desember 2024 nr. 76, in force 1 January 2025) and the GDPR. You give and manage your consent through our cookie banner, and you may change or withdraw it at any time (see Section 5 below).

This Cookie Policy is provided by Panion Norge AS, org. no. 937 759 614, Tønsnesvegen 14, 9020 Tromsdalen, Norway. Contact: hello@panion.travel.

Further information on how we process personal data, including legal bases, data subject rights, and retention periods, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

2. Categories of cookies we use

a) Strictly necessary (No consent required)

These cookies are required for the platform to function. They handle session management, security, load balancing, and remembering your cookie choices. They cannot be switched off.

b) Functional (Consent required)

Remember your language and other preferences to give you a better experience.

c) Analytics (Consent required)

Google Analytics measures usage statistics (e.g. pages visited, time spent, traffic sources) so we can improve the platform.

d) Marketing / advertising (Consent required)

Meta Pixelmeasures the effectiveness of our marketing on Meta’s platforms (Facebook, Instagram) and helps us show relevant ads to users who have visited panion.travel.

For the data collected via the Meta Pixel, Panion and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. act as joint controllersunder GDPR Article 26. Further information is available in Meta’s controller terms and in our Privacy Policy.

e) Affiliate / referral tracking (Consent required)

We use Bókun (a booking and reseller management platform owned by TripAdvisor) to track which Panion(e.g. Airbnb host, hotel, guide, taxi driver) referred you to a booking. This is done through a unique tracking code in the URL and/or a cookie set when you arrive via a Panion’s link or QR code, so that the correct Panion receives commission.

If you decline this cookie, you can still book activities, but we cannot guarantee that commission is correctly attributed to the Panion who referred you.

For more information about Bókun’s processing, see Bókun’s privacy notice at bokun.io/privacy-policy.

Bókun (a TripAdvisor company) may act as an independent data controllerfor certain processing carried out for its own and the TripAdvisor group’s purposes.
