I moved to Ålesund 13 years ago because of the mountains and the sea. Ålesund and the Sunnmøre region are such amazing places for a truly unique combination of outdoor adventures, natural experiences, history, culture and architecture. I have never been anywhere with such a diverse range of opportunities for visitors. Ålesund and surrounding area is a fantastic corner of our planet just waiting to be discovered!

I love cycling and think it is one of the best ways to experience the city. You get a high quality electric bike to enjoy, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. The range you get with the bike lets your really experience all aspects of the city from out by the ocean, through the narrow colorful streets and even up to the Aksla viewpoint. Its basically a ride I do every week myself as a local just because it is so beautiful and interesting!

The waterway that divides the city center is the defining characteristic of this unique city. Get in a kayak with a knowledgeable guide and experience the city from the water. Ålesund has a rich maritime history and culture so it doesn't get better then this to really appreciate Ålesund.

It is a bit of a journey from Ålesund to Stranda, but if you have the time you will not regret making the trip! The hike you do has to be one of the best in Norway. Absolutely bucket list stunning views as you walk the ridge above the fjord surrounded by jagged alpine peaks. If you can do one hike in Norway this could be it. In combination with the bike ride you have the perfect day out!

Our corner of the planet offers epic skiing and Strandafjellet resort is at the heart of it. You come to Stranda for the offpiste skiing and the legendary snow. If you are visiting you have no way of knowing where or when it is safe to ski the best parts of the mountain which makes grabbing a guide to show you the goods a very good investment. The guides are top notch and know how to tailor the day to your skills and expectations in a safe and fun environment.

This hike and climb experience takes you to legendary Molladalen on a fairytale like hike up into the alpine. From this incredible enclosed valley with a pristine alpine lake surrounded by jagged peaks you hike up a steep ravine to a viewpoint of the Hjørundfjorden fjord. Stunning in itself up to that point. Add that you then climb Bladet, a free standing spire, and you have one once in a lifetime epic experience!

Great way to see the city from the streets and from Sukkertoppen mountain viewpoint. Your guide lets you know on a wealth of local knowledge while you enjoy a top of the line E-bike ride and moderate to easy hike. 260 degree view of the ocean, city and surrounding mountains. Time well spent!
